Why Dilip Kumar changed his name

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar who breathed his last on Wednesday at the age of 98, was born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan. Later, he changed his name from Yusuf to Dilip Kumar before foraying into the world of cinema. While many might not know the real reason behind his name change, the veteran actor had mentioned it in his autobiography ‘Dilip Kumar: The Substance and the Shadow’ how he ended up changing his name just right before his debut.
