नई दिल्ली. मालदीव की मौजूदा सरकार में सर्वोच्च नेता और पूर्व राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद नशीद ने कहा है कि नागरिकता संसोधन कानून पूरी तरह भारत का आंतरिक मसला है। नशीद ने कहा कि भारत दूसरे देशों के सताए हुए अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए सबसे सुरक्षित स्थान है। नशीद ने खुद अपना उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि जब मालदीव में अब्दुल्ला यामीन की सरकार ने उन्हें गिरफ्तार करने की कोशिश की, तो वह भारतीय हाई कमीशन ही था, जिसने उन्हेें शरण दी थी।
नशीद ने कहा, “धार्मिक आधार पर उत्पीड़न गलत है और भारत ने हमेशा उन्हें शरण दी है, जिनके साथ जुल्म हुए हैं। जब मुझे गिरफ्तार करने की कोशिश की गई, तो भारत सरकार ने मेरी मदद की। वे मुझे भारत भी ले जाना चाहते थे। धर्मनिरपेक्षता और अल्पसंख्यकों का सम्मान भारत के आधारभूत विचारों में शामिल है।
‘भारतीय लोकतंत्र पर मुझे पूरा भरोसा’
मालदीव की संसद के मौजूदा स्पीकर मोहम्मद नशीद ने आगे कहा, “भारतीय लोकतंत्र पर मुझे पूरा भरोसा है। वहां जो कुछ भी हो रहा है, ज्यादातर लोगों को वही चाहिए होगा। यह भारत का आंतरिक मुद्दा है।
